Introducing the datajar.mobi Portal

datajar.mobi Portal

Since its launch as the first MSP platform for Jamf Pro in 2013, datajar.mobi has helped Apple administrators across the globe to automate, simplify and succeed with their Apple and Jamf deployments in a secure and expertly supported way.

From its inception, the vision for datajar.mobi has been to push the boundaries of how modern managed services can be delivered and supported. In achieving this, a relentless drive to innovate has helped produce the most complete MDM-as-a-Service platform available for Apple today. Our highly skilled team has created solutions such as the Auto-Update framework, dataJAR Defend, Simplified Management and numerous other open source projects, while collecting multiple awards and industry recognition in the process.

Today we are taking our biggest leap forward yet. Following a two year development effort, we are excited to release the datajar.mobi Portal. This is a major addition to datajar.mobi and a game changer in the delivery of managed services for Apple and Jamf.

Introducing the datajar.mobi Portal

The datajar.mobi Portal delivers control, transparency and automation to IT teams, by equipping them with:

  • a rich and responsive web interface that simplifies and accelerates the administration of Jamf
  • an insights dashboard with estate-wide device usage and KPI analytics
  • a multi-tenanted view of all devices, across multiple or individual Jamf tenants
  • single or multi-device MDM remediation, including erasing devices and managing OS updates for all platforms
  • privilege access management capabilities for macOS, including admin rights provisioning or revocation with a single click
  • VPP app usage and scope reporting
  • device enrolment configuration, editing and reporting
  • granular device inventory exporting

The Portal has been built to help us deliver on an ambitious promise – that, by combining the expertise of the award-winning dataJAR support team with intelligent data analytics and the power of MDM, we will equip all datajar.mobi customers with a modern and platform-agnostic user interface, giving them control of their Apple estate and enabling them to swiftly respond to the support needs of their users.

How to gain access and next steps

Access to the Portal will be granted upon request to named datajar.mobi Technical Account Administrators (TAAs). Once configured, users will be provisioned with a dataJAR ID (powered by Okta) that will allow them to log into the Portal via any supported web browser.

To enquire about requesting access, please contact us at support@datajar.co.uk, or raise a support ticket via either our existing Simplified Management app or on our website here.

Providing feedback

We have made the process of giving feedback quick and easy, building a dedicated form within the Portal itself. This way, users will be able to help us by suggesting new features or reporting any errors encountered while using it. Look for the ‘Feedback’ button in the sidebar.

In addition, feedback can be provided through dataJAR Community, where discussions among other datajar.mobi users and our development team can be logged, upvoted and tracked.

User guide

We have built a comprehensive user guide here. This will help you navigate the interface and uncover advanced features such as group MDM actions, customised inventory reporting and more. This guide will be updated as more features are added into the Portal in upcoming releases.
