Notification – macOS 10.15 Catalina
It is that time of year again when Apple refreshes its OS line up, and last night Apple released macOS 10.15 Catalina. First, the good news. This latest incarnation of Apple’s desktop OS has a heap of new technologies under the hood which, over the coming months, will bring lots of value to your Mac – such as further enhancements to security and privacy. Now the bad news. Because of these enhancements and the fact a clear release date was not communicated by Apple, developers are now on the back foot.
General compatibility
We have carried out extensive testing on pre-released versions and are currently evaluating general third party application compatibility when running macOS Catalina. We strongly advise you delay upgrading systems if your organisation uses Adobe Creative Cloud. In light of this, we have taken the step to actively postpone general availability of macOS 10.15 Catalina on devices managed by datajar.mobi. As part of our service, we are evaluating all customer environments. As you know, every environment is different so our engineers will be in touch shortly to carry out further testing with you on an individual basis.
What next?
We are monitoring any issues with regards to these products closely and hope to issue further communications to our customers shortly. Once we have compiled a list of known issues we will, upon request, make macOS 10.15 Catalina available via our Auto-Update service.
